Book Reading with local author Gary James Erwin
Saturday, April 251:00—2:30 PMCommunity RoomAHPL3400 E. Seyburn Dr, Auburn Hills, MI, 48326
Enjoy a book reading with local author Gary James Erwin as he shares from his newly published collection of short stories, Trail Crossing Sixteen Counties.
The characters in this collection struggle to understand the paradoxes that shape their lives as they move from the city and suburbs of Detroit to the
forests and lakes of northern Michigan. Through these paradoxes, they find themselves inextricably connected to each other and the physical world of Michigan in which they live. The oceans of cement that comprise the southeast half of the state represent a part of America’s “rust belt” that contrasts sharply to the lush green river valleys, forests and lakeshores of northern Michigan towns like Petoskey, Hubbard Lake and Munising Bay.
This is part of our author series, made possible by the Friends of the Library.
